Abbey Medieval Festival 2009

Tue May 5, 2009, 2:36 PM
  • Mood: Tired
  • Listening to: Kate Miller-Heidke - Little Adam
The festival is the largest authentic medieval event in Australia. It spans a thousand years in Europe and the Middle East from the Dark Ages to the High Middle Ages, from AD 600 to 1600. There is something for all ages at the Tournament. The breath-taking pageantry of the Joust; the courage and skill of knights in armed combats; a new and spectacular Grand Parade with over 500 re-enactors parading from the castle; a Masque Ball, educational talks and exotic food. Visit the renowned Medieval market to indulge your shopping fantasies or the Stag Inn and the Tavern to satisfy your thirst. There is music, dance, arts and crafts and rich photographic opportunities.

The Festival is on the 11th and 12th of July this year and once again requires photographer volunteers to capture all the action.

If you'd like to be involved then be quick because time is short. The application form is available here [link]

I'll make sure there's plenty of people to capture you getting beaten and stretchered off then. ;)

Should be good fun again. :D

Cool, about time the Abbey festival came around again. Is it being held at the same place as before? Or is it at the new grounds they were planning to purchase some time ago?

It's the same place. The new grounds are right next to the school, but with the record amount of rain they got they haven't been able to finish preparing it.
:iconelffinarts:
hrmmm I better get Dan to weld my helm on so you cant see my face in pain from the blows. hahaha
